Eye Logbook

The Eye Logbook is the online surgical logbook for ophthalmologists designed for the simple entry and analysis of ophthalmic surgical data by individual users.

The Eye Logbook captures the data required by the RCOphth for Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) purposes. Surgical information is displayed in both tabular and graphical forms, allowing the analysis of data for training progress, audit and revalidation purposes.

It is important for trainees to record all surgical experience, including procedures that they have performed supervised or assisted at – please see letter in the Resources section.

It is mandatory for all trainees to use the Eye Logbook to record their surgical procedures during training. All ophthalmologists are encouraged to use the Eye Logbook, which is exclusively offered to College Members and Fellows in good standing as part of the package of membership benefits. An alternative Excel template is available to use free of charge for non-members. Please click here to download.

An issue persists with the Eye Logbook app on the Apple Store, causing login problems and frequent crashes for certain users. Ongoing support for the mobile app has become impractical due to challenges with maintaining the code. While the app will continue to be downloadable and accessible, and will now not require a subscription, updates and support will be discontinued. Please contact the provider directly for details.
