We want the future of eyecare services to be sustainable.
In this section, you can explore the impact that climate change is having on eyecare, ways in which we are embedding sustainability into our working practices, and resources for decarbonising your own services.
Central to our efforts is our Net Zero Working group, a team committed to driving changes across the eyecare landscape.
We are dedicated to:
- Raising awareness of low carbon eyecare across healthcare settings, including through educational opportunities
- Producing and disseminating guidance and actions for ophthalmologists and the broader eye care workforce on how to decarbonise eye care
- Promoting and sharing innovations and best practices to make eye care more sustainable
- Evaluating and improving the College’s approach to sustainable working practices in relation to our building, activities, and events
- Supporting members to engage with, deliver and lead sustainability centred projects within the workplace.
Subspecialty leads:
- Neil Finer – medical retina
