The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) invites all ophthalmologists, clinicians and allied health professionals involved in eye care to take part in our consultation on the retinal vein occlusion guidelines update. The updated retinal vein occlusion guideline incorporates the impact of new imaging modalities and findings on the management of retinal vein occlusion.

Members of the College are invited to submit nominations for Honorary Fellowships for 2022. The award of Honorary Fellow is the highest accolade that the College can bestow. It recognises those who have made a significant contribution to the field of ophthalmology.

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is due to submit a proposal to the GMC with a start date for the new Ophthalmic Specialist Training (OST) curriculum of August 2024. This will allow time to ensure the new e-Portfolio is fully functional before the launch.

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) has welcomed the announcement that the NHS in England will receive an extra £5.4 billion over the next six months to support its response to COVID-19 and help tackle waiting lists. This includes £1.5 billion to manage the elective surgery backlog (including £500 million capital funding), with delays to cataract surgery identified by government as a particular concern.
