The Royal College of Ophthalmologists has released the RCOphth 2021 Annual Financial Report
Ophthalmology is one of the first specialities in the UK to use a novel method of updating its original research priorities published in 2013 - Sight and Vision Loss Report.
SAS workforce and mentorship statement endorses the importance of the opportunities for SAS doctors to be mentored and act as mentors, at both a national and local level.
These new awards are offered jointly between the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and Fight for Sight. Fight for Sight’s mission is to stop sight loss by funding the highest quality medical research. The RCOphth recognises that research is the basis of high-quality evidence-based clinical care, services, and policies. They are named to honour the late Miss Zakarian who generously left Fight for Sight a legacy to help the charity support pioneering researchers.
CQC's inspection programme is changing. Rather than treating surgery as a single speciality they are moving to an approach focused much more on the surgical sub-specialities. This approach will involve continuous monitoring of key metrics supported by a more detailed review (deep dive) when concerns are raised. The CQC is looking to recruit 4-5 senior clinicians to assist CQC in a pilot of the new approach.
The National Clinical Excellence Awards have been renamed the National Clinical Impact Awards (NCIAs). The 2022 round of the National Clinical Impact Awards will open for applications on Wednesday 27 April, with registration for a new online application system opening shortly before.
