College members can nominate someone who they feel has made an important and inspirational contribution to ophthalmology for an Honorary Fellowship. This is the highest accolade that the College can bestow and it recognises those who have made a significant contribution to the field. Only one or two Honorary Fellowships are awarded each year and there are no more than 100 Fellows at any one time. Nominees can be from any field of ophthalmic science, research or medicine or a member of the general public. Their work should have inspired, contributed to or made an impact in the field of ophthalmology and the wide eye health sector.
