The 2024 winner of the Dr Sadhu Ram Gupta MBE Award for International (non-UK) Examination Candidates is Dr Cheuk Ling Yim from Hong Kong, who got the highest score in the October 2024 Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examination held in Athens.
This annual award is intended for international candidates who take our FRCOphth exams. It is given to the best performing non-UK examination candidate who has completed the Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examination in that calendar year, and includes a monetary prize of £1,000 as well as a medal.
Only candidates who reside permanently outside of the United Kingdom and take the exam there are eligible for the award.
The winner is announced at the end of each year for that year’s worth of eligible exams. Dr Cheuk Ling Yim was the highest-ranking candidate from all overseas sittings of Part 2 FRCOphth Oral examinations in 2024, which were held in Singapore, Pakistan, Egypt and Greece.
