Management of Diabetic Macula Oedema in 2020 and beyond

Start: 6th November 2020

Type: Seminar

Description: Diabetic macula oedema (DMO) is the most common cause of visual loss in patients with diabetes. As well as addressing systemic factors such as hyperglycaemia and hypertension, there are specific ophthalmic treatments that are established in the armamentarium of clinicians managing DMO such as focal laser and more recently intravitreal anti-VEGF agents and steroids. There are also a range of new treatments in the pipeline and recent trials exploring the role of micropulse laser and combination treatments. This course will highlight a plethora of common presentations and rarer management dilemmas encountered by clinicians managing diabetic macula oedema and demonstrate how to put the current evidence to practice for the benefit of patients.
