The first stage of the election for the next President of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists has commenced. Eligible members in good standing, who have served for at least one year on Council are now able to nominate themselves as a candidate for the role.
A dedicated website has been set up by the Electoral Reform Service (ERS) where members can submit their nomination forms, vote for their preferred candidate and find out more about the candidates standing. Nominations must be submitted online via the dedicated ERS website before 30 September 2019.
All candidates eligible for nomination will have received a separate email about their eligibility. To find out more the role and the work the President does on behalf of members and the College, visit the ERS website to hear from current President Mike Burdon.
Voting will open on 4 November 2019, with results announced on 6 December 2019. Only Fellows, Members and Diplomats who are in good standing will be able to vote. Please ensure the College holds a current and valid email address for you so you can contacted by ERS about nominees and online voting via the ERS portal. You can update your email address within your member’s area profile or contact [email protected].
We encourage all members to participate fully in the election of this important leadership role for the College.
